| Based on the novel le Fantôm de l'Opéra by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera is a haunting love story set in the Paris Opera House. Beneath the Paris Opera House the Phantom dwells in the sewers hiding from the outside world, masking his childhood deformities from prying eyes. Within his dingy retreat the Phantom can hear the shows of the Opera House, in particular the voice of Christine the chorus singer.
Desperate to succeed as a singer Christine agrees to be tutored by the Phantom. During their private lessons the Phantom falls in love with Christine, unaware of the Phantom's feelings she begins a relationship with childhood friend Raoul.
The Phantom enraged by Christine's love for Raoul kidnaps her and drags her to his dwelling, Raoul is the only one that can save her but can he defeat the Phantom?
